Method:
1. Cut a hole in the shape of a circle on each side of the bottle or carton. Leave space at the bottom. You can mark them out with a pen first if that is easier. Or cut out the first one and trace around it on the other sides so all holes are all the same.
2. Punch a hole about 2 cm below the bottom and in the middle, of the big hole on 2 sides (make sure they are opposite each other).
3. Make similar holes in the other 2 sides, but this time only 1 cm below the large hole.

4. Push one of the pieces of ply through the hole punched hole, through to the other hole. Make the ends that are hanging out even.
5. Do the same for the other piece of ply, they should overlap and meet at a cross in the middle of the milk bottle.

6. Remove the lid from the milk bottle and make a hole in the middle. Tie a knot in one end of the string and pull through the lid so it hangs from the string without falling off.
7. If you used a milk carton, use the hole punch to make a hole in the top fold on the carton (where the use by date normally is). Pull string through and tie to secure the string and carton.

8. Hang outside from a tree and fill with seed. Enjoy the sight of wild birds feeding from your creation.
*If you decide to decorate this, make sure the products you use are animal friendly as you do not want to harm the birds. Also use subtle decoration so birds are turned off or scared of your feeder.
