Method:
1. Using your marker or pen, draw a line around the milk carton where you think the middle is.
2. Then, cut carefully along the line. Put the top half of the carton in the recycling or use for another fun recycling activity on this website!

3. Push the pin through the bottom of the carton, roughly toward the centre.
4. Remove the pin and use your pencil or scissors to make this hole big enough to fit your pencil in.

5. Push the pencil through the hole with the eraser end facing up. (If you don't have an eraser on the end, use a small ball of glue-tack). Put this to one side for later.
6. Cut a isosceles triangle from your cardboard that is about 10 cm tall.

7. Using the same piece of cardboard cut a tail for your wind vane arrow. Refer to picture. (Make sure your be proactive and Recycle the left over cardboard).
8. Cut a 5 cm slit in each end of the drinking straw.
9. Push the bottom end of the arrow into the straw and the tail into the other end's split.

10. With your pin, prick a hole through the middle of the straw, and push through.
11. Push the pin, which is now attached to the straw, through the eraser on the end of your pencil (which is in the milk carton).

12. Your now have a wind vane to discover which way the wind is blowing, made from a recycled milk carton!
13. You can now push the wind vane half way down, into the soil so it doesn't blow away, and watch the wind's direction.
